#JollofWars and #DrinkWars aim to reward amateur cooks and mixologists via the Bank’s digital channels. The winner of each competition will receive a cash prize as stated in the competition guidelines.

To qualify for the competition, a participant must upload the stipulated original content using the competition hashtag and tag the Bank on approved social media channels. A customer wins the prize by meeting the requirements at each stage of the competition which include popular vote and the Bank’s guidelines.

The competitions are organized by Sterling Bank PLC. (The Bank).

  1. The competition is open to residents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria aged 18 years or over, except employees of Sterling Bank PLC. and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or serving as a Judge during the competition.
  2. There is no entry fee and no purchase required to enter this competition.
  3. The Bank reserves all rights to disqualify entrants and entries to this competition.
  4. The Bank assumes all ownership rights to content entered in for the competition and this includes the right to use it for the Bank’s advertisement, promotion of its products and services on its channels, licensed third party platforms or as it deems fit.
  5. The competition is open to both Sterling Bank customers and non-Sterling Bank customers.
  6. Entries must be sent in through The Bank’s social media channels to be valid for this competition. Social media channels include Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  7. The competition prize is non-transferrable.
  8. The decision of the Bank on all matters relating to this competition is final.
  9. The Bank shall take no liabilities for any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense incurred by any person; that may arise, in relation to this promotion.
  10. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
  11. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via the Bank’s approved digital channels.
  12. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  13. Closing date for entry will be on the 13th of December, 2019, unless an extension is explicitly communicated via the Bank’s approved digital channels. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be considered.
  14. No responsibility will be accepted for entries not received within the stipulated timeline or according to the Bank’s submission guidelines.
  15. Sterling Bank (The Bank) reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these Terms and Conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the Bank’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  16. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions of entry (the “Terms”) which include information on how to enter, how the winners will be determined, the prizes, and how personal data will be collected, retained, used and shared
  17. Kindly note that by participating in this competition, you give the organizer permission to carry out scheduled visits as part of food/wine tasting and verification process.

The following will guide the competition Prize:

  1. The Prize is as stated, and no other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without prior notice.
  2. Winners will be chosen from all entries received and verified by the Bank and/or its agents either as a result of a popular vote conducted via social media sites as measured and recorded and verified by the Bank and/or its agent or by an independent adjudicator or panel of judges appointed by the Bank.
  3. The winner will be notified by email and/or Direct Message on social media and/or letter within 28 days of the closing date. If the winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winners and pick replacements.
  4. The Bank will notify the winners when and where the prize can be collected/is delivered.
  5. The Bank’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  6. The competition and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by Nigerian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  7. Winners agree to the use of their names and images in any publicity material, as well as their entries.
  8. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  9. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to Sterling Bank and not to any other party.
  10. Sterling Bank will judge the competition: The Bank‘s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final.
  11. The entrant must be following Sterling Bank on social media platform of application in order to enter in for the competition.
  12. Sterling Bank shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these Terms and Conditions.
